Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) is a Premier Institute established in the year 1997 under the patronage of the Gokaraju Rangaraju Educational Society. The college is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to JNTU, Hyderabad and has been given autonomous status. The college has obtained NAAC A++ and NIRF Rank 174 in 2021. The mission of GRIET is to achieve and impart quality education with an emphasis on practical skills and social relevance. GRIET strives to provide state-of- art infrastructure. The department of Computer Science and Engineering is accredited by NBA and is the largest department of GRIET, with a present intake of 360 UG and 60 PG students per year. The department is approved by JNTUH and recognized as active research center by NRSC (ISRO), TCS and IBM in different domains such as Bigdata Analytics, Spatial Data Mining and Machine Learning. The department undertakes consultancy projects for Industries and also actively involved in the various research projects worth of Rs 40 lakhs by AICTE, DST and other organizations.
The UG course B.Tech Information Technology discipline was started with an intake 60 in 1999 and has an intake of 180 students annually. The department of IT has been accredited by NBA and actively involved with various research projects under UGC and AICTE.
